The short answer is yes, some do. But it changes from year to year. This post explains how to think about it.

Emirates and Qatar Airways are the best known. Both have Japanese crew, and both have hired from Japan and from other Asian countries in the past. Etihad Airways is a third option in the same region. Singapore Airlines is famous for its service. Other Asian airlines like Cathay Pacific also hire internationally. Each has its own rules about language, nationality and base. Airlines hire when they need more crew. When flights are cut, hiring slows. When routes grow, hiring grows. So the best time to prepare is before an announcement, not after.

Many Japanese applicants worry about their English. But service skill, politeness and attention to detail are real strengths. Airlines know this. Make a short list of the airlines you like. Then talk to us, and we will help you decide what to improve: English, confidence, knowledge of the industry.![""]("https://crewlounge.com.my/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/cl-grad-emirates-y.png")
